National
Horse Camp: Choose from
a one
or two week Resident Horse
Camp designed for New Beginners to
Intermediate Riders
ages 8-10 & 11-15.
This is a week (or two) of 'horse power' your kids will never forget! With only eight
to ten campers allowed per session, parents can rest at ease and know that each child will receive all of the personal attention they need during their stay at the Sequatchie Valley B&B Guest Ranch. Each student is assigned their very own Guest Ranch Horse at Check-In...who will become their faithful companion for the duration of their stay!
Young Equestrians at the Sequatchie Valley B&B Guest Ranch learn about horses from the ground up! We pride ourselves in our extremely educational and safely structured environment. During this incredible program each young equestrian will acquire an enormous "in depth" knowledge by caring for their horse daily, participating in feeding and nutritional programs, grooming & bathing instruction, hoof care and
ferrier education, and even medical and veterinarian courses! Learn how to give shots, float teeth, administer medications, treat and prevent leg injuries and lots more!
Students ride twice daily under the National Horse Camp Director.
Each morning starts out with an in depth horsemanship
class, followed by a two hour formal riding lesson in hunt seat, dressage or western pleasure. each student progresses at their own pace during the week while learning a variety of riding disciplines. After the formal morning lesson,
it's time to pack our saddlebags and hit the trail! Don't forget to pack
your Bibles because our
Bible Study takes place on the trail! During this
daily Bible study on the trail, our young equestrians learn what the Bible has to say about horses!
Afterwards, it's time for a little bareback
riding through the river!
Upon return to the
Guest Ranch from our daily outing, and after taking care of a few more horsey
chores...students will head to the On-Site
Science Lab for
their Equine Research Lab
Studies Course!
Students prepare equine blood cell slides for use under the microscope to begin
discovering more about God's intricate details of his wonderful creation...the
horse! Parasite research, food & nutrition, and much more are covered
in depth in the Science Lab! Microscopes and other lab equipment assist us in our equine parasite study, and may even spark a future career in veterinarian medicine and research!
Evening time brings mounted fun, bareback games,
cook outs,
marshmallow roasts,
night time swims,
a moonlight ride,
and a Southern
Bell Etiquette Dining Course !
National Horse Campers sleep in the
7000 Sq. Ft. Guest Ranch in the 'horsey themed' Bronco Bunk
House Room! All rooms are of course air conditioned and campers can
even see the horses from their Bunk House window! Meals take place in the
Biblical Dining Room of the Guest Ranch, out on the trail, by the camp fire, or at quaint local country restaurants.
Campers arrive on a Sunday afternoon and depart on
a Saturday morning. Airport or Express Shuttle pickup and drop off is provided for children who will be arriving or departing by plane or who will be arriving or departing by Chattanooga Express Shuttle from Atlanta, Knoxville, or Nashville. The National Horse Camp is only for those who want to eat, sleep and breath horses every minute of the day!
